annanotbob2's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Day5 Still here, on day 5, yay, go me. Not sure what to write about - it's been another hard day. Daughter is very low and I didn't have any resources to help her, though maybe the only help is acknowledging that this is hard, awful, too much to bear, but here we are, this is what we've got, so on we go, those of us who are left. It's really not helped by politics, the fucking election campaign makes me feel deeply ashamed and scared, though with periods of intermittent optimism. I'm most confused, still, over the charges of anti-Semitism against the Labour party and Corbyn in particular, as there are established, intelligent, Jewish people on both sides of this - some saying that this is the scariest thing since the actual Nazis, others saying it's a big right wing scam with no basis in fact, that JC is definitely not anti-semitic, and that the party stands for equality and that there is far more racism of every kind in the Tory party. Ach I can't even write about it any more. It makes me feel so tired and depressed. All the stuff I've seen so far is Labour saying what they will do if they get in (tax the rich and spend it on the rest of us - the rich here pay far less tax than anywhere else) and the Tories saying Corbyn is a bastard and that they'll do the same as him in terms of funding public services but more, when it's the absolute opposite of what they've been doing for the last ten years. Johnson is refusing to be interviewed by a serious political journalist, but turns up on This Morning - as if he knows he's only going to appeal to people who don't want to think too hard. The thought of them getting in again is terrifying, frankly. They will sell our NHS down the river to the fucking US corporations, scrap all the laws protecting us from corrupt manufacturers. Awful, awful, awful. One week to go. That's me done for today.
