Bert
- I did the 4th fitness session today - still hard, but I'm doing it. I can't manage the app though, or the website. They have loads of other stuff I'm meant to be doing but I'm only on the workouts and drinking more water. I also should be sleeping 7-8 hours, apparently, which is hard as I love the time alone when Bloke's gone to bed. Giving it a go though - will be off very soon.
- Currently half watching an unbelievable prog on Ch4 about plastic surgery - I won't name it - where people come to chat about body parts they'd like changed. They generate a 3d model and alter it to demonstrate a choice of options, then send photos of them to 50 random people for comment. So far, so late night Channel 4. But one of the people on tonight was a pawn star - I'm misspelling to avoid searches - who wanted her arse made less flat as that was her specialism (a proper pounding, big as you like - her words), and a flat bum wasn't enough. They showed her one option with fillers, and one with implants but in both cases her line of work would mean she had to have a really long recovery time and even then a big chance of it all getting fucked up and broken due to what she does all day. I'm sorry to share this with you but I'm astonished at hearing this conversation on my telly, so good-natured and matter of fact. In the end she went for the fillers, but god knows how long they lasted.
- I was going to do five but that's kind of done my head in.
Today I am grateful for being reminded today of the reader I called Bert - because there were stats coming in from St Albert, Alberta, Canada, day after day, reading for four, five hours at a time, but she didn't know I'd spotted her till she arrived at the current posts, by which time the name had stuck. She made me feel really good about myself and about my writing (she read my whole blog - it took her weeks!), and I liked remembering her. I don't know if she's even still alive - I think she was quite old back then, in 2010 but I'm going to write to her tomorrow, not now, but in the morning when I have time and am not in a rush to get to bed.
