Weekending

1. I am starting to get used to the new teeth but I still can't chew, so am basically eating slop. Last night I had Glamorgan sausages (aka cheesy fritters, delish), mashed potato, mashed avocado and mashed broccoli for dinner, tonight fish pie and the same veg. Apart from that it's mainly been porridge. Having to clean the plate and rinse my mouth with salty water after every food is making me eat less, as I'm too lazy to do it and too scared not to. I'm not exactly regretting having it done, but I'm not enthusiastic about it. There's no going back, though, is there?


2. Sudden heavy rain and thunder and lightening - scared Shirley who is now asleep on my foot..


3. I was finally discharged by the nursing team who have been changing the dressing on my leg wound. All healing properly at last, scabby and good, no more dressings. Thank fuck for that - six weeks of a manky leg is too long.


4. Lunch (mashed potato, green lentil salad and the gravy off a beef thing - the meat was too lacking in mushiness), with Son today - so good. He's funny and clever and good company and the time flew past.


5. I am so tired. Like a tired thing from the planet tired. But I did mange to sow runner beans and borlotti beans, so I haven't entirely wasted the day
