Took my girl out geocaching and found one within a mile of her home. The wind had dropped and though it was still near freezing it was good to be out in the clean country air. She wheeled herself a fair bit and managed to get herself in and out of the house unaided, all of which perked her right up and got some colour in her cheeks. This evening we went to the Young People's Awards where Grandson had been nominated in the Young Carer's category. He didn't win but got Highly Commended, had to go on stage and collect a certificate with a big round of applause, and was well pleased. I tell you, though, that Ricky Gervais didn't have to use much imagination to create the characters in The Office - they were all there tonight. Self-important, bumptious tossers by the bucketload, talking meaningless shite. Never mind - it's been good for GS - he takes pride in looking after his mum now, bless him, which is better than resentment. Tomorrow ED has her day in the hospice so I'm hoping to go home. It's all snowed up down there though - my route home came to a standstill last night due to drifts and over a hundred people had to spend the night in their cars. Fuck that. I've only walked 5,000 steps today but I reckon 3,000 of them were pushing a wheelchair so that's gotta be worth more, hasn't it? Early night now.
