annanotbob2's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Who am I to disagree? Bobbing along now with my head just about above water. Still not easy. YD, having met her obligations to both uni and her nephew has collapsed in a heap and is staying on with me for a further while. ED is meanwhile having the heebie-jeebies about going to the paralympics, which is exhausting, but I am wearing my Good Mummy hat, tied on tight with a bow under my chin, spending hours on the phone with her each day. If it was anything else at all I wouldn't bother, but I know it's SIL The Fearful putting the worries on her. She can't remember either of the other times we've been into central London on the train - oh god, as I'm writing this I'm doubting myself, when I mustn't as I know this will be an awesome day for her and for all of us. I've already promised that we will turn back at any point during the journey if that's what she chooses, but it won't be necessary. She feels safe with us (me, YD, the BF, Bloke, Son and DS) because we know we can manage - we have mobiles so can call 999 at any point if the worst happens but it won't - whereas SIL is just afraid of everything. See how nice I'm being? How understanding of SIL? I do think that's what it is. Me keeling over for almost three months hasn't helped, but we are where we are, and on we will go. Anyway, enough drivelling on. Today I am grateful for: A warm day, a picnic at the allotment; not being a teacher at the start of a new school year; rocket salad leaves, picked and onto my plate within hours (between sardines and toast, since you asked), zingy and delicious; feeling stern of purpose Sweet dreams xx 1:02 a.m. - 05.09.12 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
