We've been doing the garden, these last couple of days. YD and her BF live in a basement flat which comes with a decent bit out the back and she has just, this spring, become enthused with the idea of creating a beautiful space by judicious use of plants. Hurrah! I hope it sticks! It's interesting working with these two - they bring an entirely new perspective, both as visual artists who know which things they care about and because he's a sculptor and a hoarder, with absolute confidence in handling all sorts of materials. They're moving stuff around, building a circular deck, making structures, while I'm working on the beds, the planters and the stinging nettles, whilst answering questions about plants. I took some pictures before we started but forgot my camera lead. It's good working in the soil up here, having none at home, and this is lovely crumbly stuff. Very excellent way to spend a few days, especially as they have a spare room with a proper bed. No airbed for me. And I am proper knackered now.
